This page highlights research focused on developing highly specific molecular diagnostic markers using comparative genomics, genome-wide sequence analyses, and computational validation. These approaches enable rapid and accurate identification of fungal pathogens and their lineages for population research, disease surveillance, and agricultural diagnostics.
Presented at the Mycological Society of America (MSA) Annual Meeting 2026.
This project integrates comparative genomics, whole-genome sequence screening, e-Probe design, and in silico validation to identify genomic regions unique to the three major races of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici. The resulting workflow supports the development of highly specific molecular diagnostic markers while minimizing cross-reactivity with non-target genomes.
